Do you accept insurance?

Due to the urgent need to help facilitate the nation’s response to the public health emergency posed by COVID-19, the Departments are adopting temporary policies to provide relief in connection with certain standards identified below under the conditions outlined in this guidance Under section 6001(c) of the FFCRA.

Under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA), patients are entitled to reimbursement for the cost of COVID testing. While testing may require an out-of-pocket cost, we encourage patients to seek
reimbursement from their insurance companies by forwarding the  order invoice that includes:

1.) Diagnosis code

2.) CPT test code(s)

3.) Tax ID number

A paid invoice can be sent to the patient’s insurance company’s claims department which will determine eligibility for coverage.

Why do you charge for testing?

We are proud of the critical role we have adopted throughout the pandemic. At the forefront of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we believe that a patient should be able to test whenever they want, with or without insurance.

Many of our patients have been successful in paying for testing and then submitting their invoice to their insurance company for reimbursement.  By balancing speed with safety, we have taken numerous actions to speed public access to accurate and reliable testing

How is my sample for testing collected?

For the SARS-COV-2 PCR that detects active Covid-19 infections, we perform a nasopharyngeal swab to collect a sample of nasal secretions. This is done by inserting the swab into your nostril approximately 1 inch into the nasal passage (midway) with the most visible drainage or the nostril that is most congested if drainage is not present. The swab is rotated several times, removed gently and this process is repeated on the other side.

How and when will I get results?

For the PCR Test, results are returned same day of specimen collection. When your results are ready, we’ll text you a link to view them in the patient portal you created when you set up your testing appointment.

Do I need an appointment or can I walk-in?

Yes, you can only test with a testing appointment.

Do I need a referral from a medical professional?

No, you do not need a referral for testing.

How old can a patient be to get a COVID-19 test?

Patients can be of ANY age to register for COVID-19 testing. A parent or legal guardian must complete this registration for all minor patients and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to assist with swab collection if under 15 years of age.

Do you test pets for COVID-19?

YES! We at the lab love our pets and consider them part of our family. Numerous studies have conclusively shown that pets including cats and dogs are capable of harboring COVID-19 and the current Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations includes isolation of pets from households with positive cases.

Although the definitive risk from pets with COVID-19 has not been fully established, recent events such as the mink farm incident in Denmark indicate the risk might not be trivial. We are capable of performing RT-PCR on nasal swabs from your pets, but the antibody test is for people only.
NOTE: Collection of ALL pet nasal swabs will be performed solely by pet owners for liability purposes. 

What if I miss my appointment?

You can reschedule your appointment online free of cost 24 hours prior to your appointment. If you do not show up to your testing appointment or try to reschedule in less than 24 hours, only 25% of your testing fee will be refunded.

Can I bring someone with me or should I come alone?

We understand that you may need to bring someone with you; however, only patients who have qualified and scheduled a visit online can be tested.
